On Mother’s Day weekend last year I went to Pensacola Christian College for my brother Phillip’s graduation. It was a fun but quick trip to celebrate his dedication and accomplishments.
This Mother’s Day found me reflecting on how many wonderful changes and celebrations have unfolded since then. It has been a dizzying twelve months!
My three youngest brothers got married. One in August, one in September, and one in December. Each wedding was beautiful and we are thrilled that these lovely young ladies have joined our family.

In September, I found out that the manuscript I mentioned finishing in this post went on to win the Genesis contest in the Novella category! To win the Genesis contest in back-to-back years is an incredible honor. I was not able to attend the ACFW conference in person, but I had a virtual watch party for the announcement and it was absolutely thrilling to hear my name called. A couple weeks later my award arrived in the mail. Don’t these two make a fine pair?

As exciting as that win was, I had even bigger things unfolding in my life. My brothers weren’t the only ones getting married!

Just weeks after last Mother’s Day I met a wonderful man and had what can only be described as a whirlwind romance as God very swiftly and surely brought us together. On a sunny March day, I became his wife. To love and be loved—what a true gift from the Lord!
Over the next few weeks, I plan to share our love story. I hope you’ll join me for the journey.
