End of Summer 2022

The past six weeks have been so busy for me! We had my family reunion, where all my siblings were together for the first time in more than six years, then the school year started, and last week I attended the American Christian Fiction Writers national conference. That was such a special time—hundreds of writers gathered together to exalt Jesus, learn about our craft, and knock on doors of opportunity. We met in St. Louis, and here I pose with a group of friends who took a quick tour through the Gateway Arch museum. Left to right: Shelli Littleton, Andra Loy, Carrie Walker, me, Sarah Wickenhauser.

The conference was a very special time. It was so wonderful to see friends, be encouraged, and worship the Lord together. While there I really sensed the Lord’s presence in a strong way, and He gave me direction on my writing career in a couple areas where I had been seeking clarity. It’s wonderful to know where to go next on this journey!

That was also timely because I find myself seeking His direction in a few other areas of my life. Where does His will for me lie? Thoughts and questions have been spinning in my mind as I go through this busy season. I know He will show up just in time to point me in the way He has for me.

I’m thankful that summer 2022 was a beautiful season, and that it ended with such a happy flurry of activity. My autumn looks very quiet in comparison, but I’m okay with that. I’d like some time to catch up on rest, process my emotions, and dig into my writing. And always, always keep looking to Jesus, who has good things in store.
